With all PM chains archived, I will begin my first draft of my FTC speech after I sleep.
Tortoise and I drafted some point form notes on what we want to hit on in our daily meeting.
We also worked very closely with grogu, and we told him we didn't want the bees blindside to go through. When we saw that he decided this vote, we recognized the amount of power he had as a swing vote, and made sure to stay close to him.
Our F2 with droids went bad quickly when they blew up their game with the bees blindside
With ranger voted out to take a shot at the maroon 4, we tried to make ourselves the most approachable member of the maroon 4. We tried to make it seem like we were an outsider to the group, despite the fact that we had two final 2 deals internally.
This was a successful effort on our part, because dave didn't even call us out in his public posts, his main focus was on avo/bard/droids and he never mentioned us once.
It also paid off because after dave went home and all eyes were on the maroon 4, we were not being strongly considered as a target the round droids went home. We tried to make a move using bard's idol which we learned about in the last 10 minutes, but unfortunately we came up just a couple minutes short on that one and earned ourselves a rival in Maggie
After droids was gone, we knew wanted to build a strong relationship with Bees because we knew he was in a very good position, and he would be key in a lot of votes coming up. we put in a lot of work to try to convince him we were with him and that we would work with him to take out the returnees.
Bonobo round:
bees & avocado, two of our allies, wanted each other gone
we co-ordinated with avocado to give him the idol
then convinced them both to stop fighting each other and take out bonobo
bonobo going home was very good because he was close to maggie, playing a floater game, and was a desirable person to bring deep into the game becuase he was keeping a low profile
we didn't see an opportunity to get rid of him in the future since his main enemies were in the collapsing maroon 4 alliance and people would likely want to endgame with him, so we exercised our influence over our allies took the shot. This move gave us an immense amount of reward and it hardly increased our threat level at all.
Bard/Maggie:
Despite being the main person to openly target the returnees, our close relationship with grogu, and the idol shards/items/high percieved threat levels of bard/maggie kept us safe when the returnees controlled the game with their items during the F7 and F6 rounds.
Bees:
we can say we needed bees gone before endgame anyways plus we got his item but in a nice way. At this point we knew grogu had an incredible amount of control over the game thus far, having been the swing vote in the maroon4/not maroon4 divide and then controlling the F7 and F6 votes with his items. We knew he was no longer a viable endgame option and needed to set up a scenario where we could take the shot.
Cleric:
- bees gave us the javelin
- grogu told us he wanted avocado and we would probably be the target in F4
- he also told us that he would get the prime idol if we had ourselves and avocado to guess low numbers
- we also knew he had a vote nullifier
- we came up with a plan to give grogu the idol then javelin him and force firemaking
- avocado at first disagreed with this plan, citing his confidence in winning immunity, and we had to convince him
- we get him on board, javelin grogu, then practice hive like a madman with avocado
- the plan works perfectly, the returnees tried to bluff they had the idol but we had no fear and sent home cleric, knowing that rey had already won a game of hive
Grogu:
Having gone from zero to hero over the course of five days in the game of hive, and also being the last person in the game to have a strong relationship with avocado, we forced firemaking again. We did this becuase grogu was the biggest remaining threat to win the game and we did not want to leave FTC up to a debate with him, since he could reasonably say he had controlled almost every vote in the game.
