Lots of the previous challenges did have a "don't edit - there will be consequences if you do" tag.
But this one didn't. Another argument for the decision the mods made - if some challenges explicitly say "don't edit," it implies that the ones that don't say that are okay.

Yeahhh. This player is definitely experienced enough that they should have known not to edit in an endurance challenge, even if it wasn't stated. It didn't feel good giving immunity to a player who did this.
But at the same time, we didn't specify, we knew what the original post said, and the original post made didn't break any of the stated rules, so objectively it was the choice to go with.

In any case, the interesting thing now is what happens with Bees javelin. Voting Avo out seems... wrong for them here, but I'm not convinced they'll go for a returnee.

If Bees votes out Avocado, that is such a huge misplay.

He asked if he would be eliminated for using "leaves" twice, the answer was yes, and then he edited it. I definitely think he should have been considered to have lost at that point but oh well, he should be hit with the javelin anyway here.

So, here's the thing - it's perfectly acceptable to use the same word more than once in a sentence [as long as you never use that word in a future sentence], and that wasn't quite the question - the question was whether leaves (verb) and leaves (noun) counted as the same word, which the answer was yes.

Sad to see Maggie go. She was my favorite. I think I'm rooting for Avocado and T/H in spite of myself. They just care so much and are actually confessionalizing and telling us what is going on. WHAT MAGGIE DIED?

Yeah I get he could have argued the original sentence was fine, and I guess it was! But he asked a question on discord and the answer seemed to indicate otherwise and then he edited his “mistake” out, and editing (even if it wasn’t stated) was obviously not supposed to be allowed and everyone knew that.

Anyway I see how there could be a different interpretation so who care, it’s all good, just saying my thought on it.

I don't get how any of Bees insults were beyond the game? They were literally all about how Avocado were playing the game? Did I miss something in tribal thread?

The fact that he would have won even if he didn't edit makes me more fine with it. The editing ultimately made no difference, and it wasn't explicitly in the rules even though it probably should have been. So unless you are saying "this person won but because they broke an implied rule, that is so bad that they should be DQed" then I think you made the right call.
I do expect players to be annoyed if/when they hear about it though, especially if Avocado goes home here and otherwise would have had Immunity.

I think I agree with Owen, but it's a tough call either way.

Yeah trying to juggle the Avocado situation and this was a bit of a moment, but I think what we did was ultimately the right call for both.
Ultimately, the Grogu situation was less an issue on Grogu's side and more an issue on ours for not being clear enough in the post. As per the OP, he would have been fine without editing and the clarification provided didn't change that one way or another. Should we have forbidden editing? Yes, but that didn't happen so we can't suddenly DQ someone for it.
The Avocado situation was dealt with about as tactfully as I think we could have. I don't really know if Bees or Tortoise/Hare did anything wrong [we haven't looked at their PMs as of yet], but a gentle reminder to not be mean to others can't hurt.

Bees posted their Avocado PMs in their last PM drop, so you don't have to go all login mode with that one ftr

Avocado is giving my flashbacks to a particularly traumatic Survivor experience for me, and man, I just really feel for him. I hope he's okay. I wish I could talk to him about it, because when you're in that moment, it just feels so all-consuming, but it really really isn't. He'll come out okay on the other side, and if he does choose to play again, I think this experience will make him a stronger player.
For his sake, I almost hope he does go home here. But also that would be such a mistake for Bees to allow that to happen? Though idk, maybe Bees thinks their only chance at winning is against Cleric and Dark Rey, which it probably is. Though Bees wants to go with Grogu sooooo maybe not.
