Please, please don't hide in places the mod team can't find you. We've lost staffers to invisible pits already trying to set this up. --- After the tribe swap is finished, both tribes will gain access to a sub forum. You may post whatever you want there (within the rules of MafiaScum) for the next day. In fact, I'd recommend you to! So long as you post THIS IMAGE exactly once. You must post it, and you may not alter it. We'll send both tribes a copy of the image shortly, as well. Once the image is posted, confirm with a moderator that the image placed is valid. Once the image has been placed, you must coordinate with a moderator to make sure the image is valid and possible to find. Then, coordinate with your tribe when to go seeking! Because your job is to find the image the other tribe placed in their sub forum. The mods will do our best to be available for whenever you are ready to start seeking. If you'd prefer a list of how this challenge will happen: - Once the swap is complete, the mods will give both tribes a sub forum and different copies of the same image to hide.
- You may post whatever you want in the sub forum for 24 hours. You must post the image, and you may not alter it. YOU MAY NOT POST ANY MODIFIED VERSIONS OF THE ORIGINAL IMAGE.
- Confirm with a mod once the image is placed that it can be found and isn't altered.
- From that point forwards, you will have 24 more hours to get the tribe together to go on a scavenger hunt for the image.
- You will be timed from when you got access to the other tribe's sub forum to when you find the image. Fastest time wins Immunity.
In order to finish the challenge, a tribe member must post a screenshot of the found image in a thread specifically marked CHALLENGE 5. The tribe who does this fastest will win Immunity. You are on the honour system to not edit any posts made that are related to this challenge. If you are caught editing your tribe will be penalized. You have 24 hours to hide the image, and another 24 hours to seek.

Note: Both tribes will have completely separate addresses for the image. Attempts to find the correct image via code-based shenanigans need not apply.

Note: The image must be posted in a way that means it's visible in the thread. Not just the link, it needs to be in image tags - like this:

Quick clarification: There are no restrictions on how you go about doing this challenge other than the ones given in this thread. We do need to add - all posts should follow the Universal, General, and Sitechat rules HERE. If you're unsure of whether your post breaks these rules, please ask first. Obviously, with the exception of spam being allowed.

Note: The image must be posted in a way that means it's visible in the thread. Not just the link, it needs to be in image tags - like this: You are not allowed to resize the image either. It must be visible as is in the thread (although inside spoiler tags is okay).

There will be a maximum time limit of 3 hours on searching for the image. If both teams hit this time limit, we'll add another day to the phase and all team members must individually find the image in a tiebreak spam forum our specs have made. Fastest individual time will win the tiebreak.

Hey all, we're going to step out of the usual adversarial workplace motif for this announcement.
This challenge was inspired by a similar one in Danganronpa. We thought we had a handle on what the approximate volume of spam you would produce would be, and how difficult it would be to sift.
You blew our expectations away.
Every directly-opposed challenge is a balance between offense and defense. In this case, the defense is creating spam to guard your objective, and the offense is penetrating said spam to score the "goal." If the offense and defense are a little bit out of whack, you might have a challenge which is too difficult or too easy, or simply not very fun. In this case, the defensive side was out of balance.
Way, way out of balance.
Simply put, it is insanely easy to create spam. Even moreso than we thought. A person using copy/paste and random white noise can create in one minute something which might take an hour to sift through.
This is not fun. Not for you, not for us.
We are hereby setting aside the subforums you've been filling. Worry not, you will still have access to them, and you may still draw from your best ideas for inspiration. We don't even mind if you have some choice posts you want to draw into the new threads wholesale, as long as they meet the following new parameters:
New Rules:
1) Tribes are limited to five pages of threads. Exceeding this will cause us to delete threads at random without regard for their contents to fit the parameters. (The default number of threads per page is 30). 2) Threads are limited to two pages of posts. (The default number of posts per page is 15). 3) Posts are limited to (approximately) 2000 characters of BBCode. There are a variety of tools out there which can tell you how many characters are in a text block, including Google Docs and the humble Notepad. Even Discord will stop you if you try to paste over 2000 characters into it. Feel free to spam our DM inboxes. 4) No spoilers within spoilers.
We reserve the right to add additional rules if need be.
We understand this is a rather abrupt pull of the rug from underneath you, and it may be significantly demoralizing to set aside all of the incredible work you've put in over the last 11+ hours. We do not see another equitable solution, and a variety were discussed. Please be assured that this is not about one tribe versus the other - we were delighting in how extraordinarily wicked both tribes were being before we suddenly realized just how ruthless you all had been. This was not going to be a fun challenge. It wasn't even going to be a long, hard slog.
This was shaping up to be a soul-crushing nightmare of ungodly proportion.
We do not think either team had a decent chance of finding the hidden image at all, barring a stroke of simple luck. In light of that, scrapping and starting over is the lesser of two rather shitty evils.
Please take this reset as a statement of expectation, and play in good faith. We can't possibly check every post you make for the 2000 character limit, nor would we want to crack down on someone who posts with 2004 characters or something. That would be an impossible and fruitless task. Please do not try to break this challenge even further.
This is the LSG forum on MS.net. We trust our players, and have faith that you can stick to an honor system. Let's have a fun challenge.

We've left the old forums up in case you want to copy anything across, but for the purposes of this challenge only the stuff posted in the Attempt 2 forums will count.

We're going to extend the phase by ~4 hours to give more time for you to hide it. If you're all done before that point, we'll end this bit early!

Thank you all for your understanding about this. I think when all is said and done, and you see the truly horrifying specter of the other team's spam hunt, you may breathe a sigh of relief at not having to brave it in vain.

Hello! We're going to add a new rule very fast.
The placed image should be findable without any technical knowhow - that is to say, I shouldn't need to inspect a page or create code to go searching through threads to find it, as an example.
If an image is too hard to find with nothing but searching, we will ask you to re hide it.
