Everyone's in for a lot of excitement on the next day, let's just say that. I can't wait.

And by that I mean that vibing to me seems super laid back, but Day 1 PMs are often not that since you're just kind of trying to meet everyone. Maybe the smaller tribes have an effect? My guess is that it's either because of the small tribes or because we don't have a challenge yet. It used to be normal to start games off with a day like this but (much to my dismay as a player) the practice has grown a bit out of favor recently. Though I'm fairly sure it's just the small tribes. There's not really going to be a sense of urgency when writing PMs that you'd normally have when juggling 7-11 people to send messages to versus the 3-4 (since I feel like this early, you might want to shoot the shit with each head of the hydras separately) that they have now.

I wouldn't be surprised by fake starting tribes.
But I've just been used to sign the contracts, I haven't read them.

I give the lowest opinion at the moment to D& D classes, but I'm sure they'll manage to end up doing well as they're probably also the most likely to actually improvise.

A lot of players seem to be using the word "vibing" to talk about people they connect with this game. That's interesting, especially since that's usually the opposite of how I think of Day 1 PMs. they're just realising that "planning" just gets you more trouble than it's worth

i wonder why this 6-tribes-of-4 setup is so much less convincing to the players than when KSS did it.
i enjoyed these posts: t&h- i better ally snow leopard right now to get ahead of bonobo bonobo: so i allied snow leopard,
hopefully wolf will get a second chance.

I'm going to predict that at the first challenge, the six tribes of four will become four tribes of six, with each new tribe having one player from each original tribe.
If there isn't a swap, then someone like Wolf, whose entire tribe allied with each other before he logged in, will get screwed.

i wonder why this 6-tribes-of-4 setup is so much less convincing to the players than when KSS did it. I mean KSS both had the classrooms linking tribes and I think posted the challenge early on? Also, this game advertised itself as Barely Survivor so like *shrug*. Hopefully will get to reading confessionals and asking questions tomorrow.

I think 4-person tribes aren't fun as a player. There just aren't enough people to talk to, so especially if you have some inactives on your tribe, it really can be frustrating.
I do think you're going to swap them tomorrow though, so if that's the case they can deal with one day of things being a bit slow.

That's because you're asking them personalized questions. It's a lot easier to copy paste the same thing

as far as cohesive groups that seem likely to matter after this phase, bonobo-t&h-snow leopard, avocado-gummy bear-pineapple, the entire red tribe and potentially bard-monk-ranger all seem significant

it could be interesting to see how a group that's casual and playing slow and all liking each other (bard/monk/ranger) compare to more formalized alliance groups like bonobo-t&h-snow leopard.
