Round 3 - #MaggieMeanders
--
Round Three has been a round of pleasant surprise, mild disappointment and confirmation of true love, all in the space of only two days. It really has had it all!
The most striking of pleasant surprises honestly is Finn's exit from the game. I am aware it is not a good look to relish in another's misfortune, and I truly do wish Finn the very best. However, it is an undeniable fact that his presence in the game was not good for me, and Grogu's quirky start is more likely to mesh with my.. uh.. eccentricities.
I would say that my weakest connections in the tribe are Zero III and C-3PO/R2-D2.
However, this is not to say that they are without merit. While I would say that Zero III is my least favourite of the tribe, we did just recently bond over vegetarian pizza (meat on pizza is a waste of space if you ask me, it's worse than pineapple on pizza!) and there is at least a continuous thread of communication there.
Likewise, I have recently gotten C-3PO/R2-D2 to provide me with a riveting critique of The Queen's Gambit which I look forward to engaging in even though I have not seen the show. The droids in particular strike me as a player that could easily be worked with down the line if game circumstances thrust us together, but it would need something like being swapped onto a tribe together to make up for the lack of initial spark otherwise.
--
Not far in front, to the point where I question whether they are in fact in front at all, comes Bees? Indeed, the question mark accurately reflects my own uncertainty.
There is something about Bees? that makes me unsure. That fills me with some sort of hesitation.
I do not know exactly why. They are friendly with a likable personality,. but something about our conversations falls flat. And as always with Bees? the most concerning thing is that they seem very much able to form connections elsewhere and likely not as much with me. If I could vote them out right now then I would.
Don't get me wrong, I like them very much. I think if we hung out in real life we would have a blast and get along buzzingly. Just... not as much here.
--
Next up are Grogu and The Tragedy, each of whom I consider to have high potential, but each also with reasons why I cannot commit to them quite yet.
Tragedy is still riding those brownie points of the Elder Scrolls alliance, as well as... a general liking. Indeed, he is a cutie and there is something endearing about the way he communicates. I just worry that his activity/ability to connect to others will hold him back. Nonetheless, I would fight for him much harder than I fought for Timothee.
Grogu cannot be higher on my list due to the fact that they have only just replaced in, but I do expect them to be a strong social force, and hopefully a force that may be with me as well as with you.
I would certainly say that things have gotten off to a decent start. Grogu and I have each talked up our difficulty in making conversation whilst demonstrating exactly the opposite (classic):
I am trying to think of the best way to start this conversation when the game is already this far in, but I have very little, so instead, can you accept an adorable gif of me as payment?
The gif is gretly appreciated nonetheless though. Those delicately blinky eyes, the slightly too long ears, that mmm comfortable looking coat!
Have one of me too!
I'm pretty bad at this whole conversation thing honestly... I'm just so relieved that we aren't going to Tribal Council because I would hate to have to vote someone out when I've barely been able to talk to anybody. So now we have more time, hooray!
What is Dame Maggie Smith doing with herself this weekend?
Also in a more recent PM Grogu has professed to me a liking of cauliflower, something that may end up placing them in my priorities above Dave, who does not like cauliflower (such a shame).
While I am sure that Grogu is proving themselves popular amongst the entire tribe, I would still say, "watch this space".
--
Dave blah blah blah has greatly disappointed me. I have poured out my heart and soul to him on two occasions only to be ignored.
When I unloaded to him about my frustrations with the young people of today:
These people have not needed to make the sacrifices that you and I have in order to get to where we are today! They don't know the pain, the suffering!!!
Oh my I am quite worked up. Give me a moment to settle down.
(I will vote for Timothee)
He responded only with:
Done any good puzzles today? I just did the current puzzle on the cryptic site I linked you and managed to rank 986 out of 4168 so I'm pretty excited about that.
Yes yes, very well done, pat on the back to you. Meanwhile I'm still here refusing to keep up with the Kardashians, how does that feel???
And then there was the second occasion, where I shared by deepest darkest moments in the sudoku challenge:
But then why do I like him, when he probably hasn't had to talk to a woman for the last seventy years? Is it the fact that he introduced me to Romanesco broccoli? Is it the way he blatantly says things that make it seem like he feels close to me when it's probably just intentional? Is it our shared liking for cryptic crosswords and the fact that we've started making a LSG-themed one?
I haven't the foggiest.
From now on with Dave blah blah blah, I will be all business on the inside, while I save my Gwynnhrrea on the inside for....
I know I talked about my reservations in regards to the Lindsays last round, and I, well, still have them, but I also do not care. Between our talks of old women in Cardiff, Snyphillus nasal spray and haberdashery, as well as the incomprehensible PM structure between us, there is something about the Lindsays that I suspect will make them my top priority for a very long time.

I get the sense that he is not someone who has ever needed to be cutthroat before. You know what it's like with these young celebrities nowadays, getting everything handed to them like Eve and the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil! Just think of the Kardashians! I absolutely will not keep up with them. I will not! These people have not needed to make the sacrifices that you and I have in order to get to where we are today! Oh dear Dave Thomas, Founder of Wendy's, I would love to say that I just picked three and powered through them but I fell prey to the mind games! And I only have myself to blame! To tell you the truth, I kept changing my mind on which ones I wanted to do and at the end I had to triple check to make sure that I put the correct links in the correct sections because I made myself all confused by the end of it. Was there even any significant difference in difficulty between them? I couldn't tell you honestly. It was a massive relief to me that I didn't make a mistake. You aced it though!Jan 16, 2021 2:23:57 GMT Dave Thomas Mayor of Ponderosa said:
I loaded all five into one MSPaint window and kept moving around. If I got stuck I'd move on to the next one and eventually it became very clear which three were going to be the easiest to finish. I told the mods I had no idea which three I did and submitted the same picture of three finished/one partial/one with a single "7" placed for all five spots on the form. But then why do I like him, when he probably hasn't had to talk to a woman for the last seventy years?
