Howdy all! This is my Edgic thread. This is a little different from standard LSG edgics in that I'll be talking about how I would edit the characters in each episode in order to make a compelling story. It'll still be based on what we're hearing from confessionals, but confessionalising a lot might not give someone a CP if I don't think I'd include their confs in the edit. Feel free to make your own edgics as well! Or to argue with mine

Awoo taught me how to use his relationships tool so that'll be accompanying these edgics!
Or at least, screenshots of it. Can't actually host it yet in case the players run into it.

(Assuming Awoo isn't playing) I feel like he'd be willing/able to make you some sort of password-protected way to host one for us!

Awoo is otherwise occupied Although he's said he'd be down to continue working on it later this year and see if it can be made into an online tool that could be easily used for any game. By the way, the edit will take a little while to write up and in the meantime - I'm crowdsourcing for title material! Any fun quotes from any of the players anywhere (be it conf or public board) count, even if they're very out of context

Episode 1 - Bro, We Have An AllianceEdgicsRemember, this is how I would edit the episode, by taking a small number of confessionals and conversations out of the many we’ve had. It’s not meant to be an accurate reflection of how much each player confessionalised. Movie Stars (High Vis) This tribe’s visibility starts low, with just a few confessionals talking about how Maggie isn’t really there but they all like one another. Primary focus here could really be on any character, but I’d take Michael as the primary PoV character in these early stages, mainly to set him up as being a rootable character - his confessionals have a very positive energy to them, especially early on. There’s not enough reasoning behind them to give him a CP though, so it ends up being a MOR. The visibility ramps up towards the immunity challenge, with a lot of focus on Maggie and her thoughts about not getting to know her tribe enough. As the immunity win comes her way, the focus remains almost entirely on her and the fact that she’s suddenly gone from a bad spot to a power position, and she discusses how she’s split between voting for Michael or Timothee. All of this together is more than enough to give her a CP. Additional scenes in this tribe would involve Michael and Timothee both mentioning being unsure about who is going here, and would include a conversation between Lindsays and Maggie about which boot to pick without making it obvious which they do choose. Lindsays conversation here (and maybe a vague confessional about it) gives them an MOR, whereas Timothee stays fairly UTR throughout. Star Wars (Highest Vis) This tribe is chaotic, and the edit shows that! The primary focus is on Darth Plagueis, being a CP almost throughout, but it’s not a positive edit. He expresses his dislike for the Droids, but the other confessionals are geared towards a dislike of him - Dark Rey’s confessional about how quick he was to propose an alliance, and her distrust of it, is prominent, and the Droids mention that he would be their boot choice. I would paint the Droids in a mildly positive light here, because their newbie nature in a tribe full of sharks kind of lends itself to that edit and gives the audience someone to root for here. After Finn’s immunity win, he’s slowly painted in a more and more negative light through confessionals from Plagueis and through his conversations with Dark Rey, where he repeatedly refuses to commit to anything. Rey has a confessional talking through her frustration about this and how her opinion of Finn has gone steadily downhill. Plagueis is shown analysing the vote, being extremely distrustful of Finn and committing to voting the Droids, not caring if they go instead of Rey as long as it’s not him. D&D Classes (low vis) This tribe is your standard survivor affair of obvious boot trying to be concealed by the edit. The story is told mostly from Bard’s point of view, with occasional confessionals from the others about how they all like him. The edit is initially reflecting his PoV - Ranger gets a positive for ‘vibing well’, Monk is mentioned as being dull, and Cleric is mentioned as not being there, both of which the early edit amplifies. Ranger gives a confessional about how their preferred boot is Cleric. As we go into the voting stage, Bard begins to become conflicted. He talks about how Cleric has started to grow on him, and how he’s considering taking out Monk as well. Monk suddenly gets a lot more airtime towards the end of the episode, as the edit starts focusing on the conversations he has with Bard and his confessionals about how frustrated he’s getting. Food (very low vis) The main point of view character on this tribe is Gummy Bear. We do get some early confessionals from Avocado, but they make Avocado sound extremely over the top and unrelatable. Gummy Bear gives the viewers their grounding as he talks about Avocado and how he likes them, but expresses concern about how closely Avocado has attached himself to him. Both of our main characters confessionalise about how Beef Jerky isn’t really there, and he ends up being the easy boot. Pineapple gets a couple of mentions about being ‘better than beef jerky’. Animals (very low vis) The boot is made obvious on this tribe from the very start, with confessionals being given immediately about how non-wolf animals all like one another and how Wolf isn’t really present. Leopard gives upbeat confessionals that initially portray them in a positive light. Post challenge, the only real airtime this tribe gets is the conversation between Leopard and Bonobo, with Leopard being unwilling to tell Bonobo that they’ll be safe. Bonobo is clearly unhappy with this and gets a confessional about it, resulting in a mixed edit for Leopard. Potpourri (low vis) This tribe doesn’t get much visibility until the challenge results. ...Bees? is the PoV character I’ve chosen, and will get the CP as a result, although I think it could just as easily be Dave here. The main pre-challenge visibility this tribe gets is Bees and Dave bonding over being the only talkative players there. Post-challenge, Hatsune’s conversation with Dave and plea to stay in the game is shown in full, which gives them a slight visibility bump over Zero. Bees has an interesting confessional where they weigh up the pros and cons of keeping each player. As per usual in Survivor, it’s left ambiguous as to which they (and Dave) chose until the results come through. Contender RankingsFirst lot were my actual contender rankings at the end of round 1 (how likely I think each player is to win based on their gameplay): Bear in mind, this is before the swap. I'm leaning heavily into my view that a) stable tribe is important (so no Star Wars), and b) being a solid player in confessionals with a big shield as an ally is the #1 tell of a winner early on.
Ranger seems to have a solid social game, is on a relatively stable tribe with a vote that didn't cause many divisions (and certainly didn't turn anyone on him) and has Bard as an ally, who seems likely to be a very big player in the long run and will likely help him get into power alliances. Gummy Bear is much the same, he has perhaps the biggest shield in the game in Avocado as a locked in ally, and on top of that has already shown us in his conf that he's cautious about how that attachment looks - I think that's a good sign for distancing himself from consequences if Avocado overplays early.
Lindsays don't really have a shield, but they seem to have pretty easily risen to the top of their tribe without attracting... really any negative attention at all. Very good sign socially, especially since their tribe was definitely one of the harder ones to choose a vote in. Tortoise&Hare are on for a similar reason, zero negative attention and seem to be quite strong strategically while being quite under the radar, with the added benefit of their remaining tribemates both liking them more than they like one another.
Finally, I've gone with ...Bees?. They seem to be by far the strongest social player on their tribe and are in a pretty comfortabe spot, with all of their tribemates liking them. It doesn't seem to be the kind of strongest player that will land a target on their back, either. And finally, contenders based on the edit: This one doesn't really need much explanation. Players with CP edits tend to be good bets for winning, especially in Episode 1. Michael's on there because the MORP edit has a strong rootable underdog story accompanying it.
